Brisa joined the supporters of the CEO Water Mandate, an initiative of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). Via its endorsement of the Mandate in August 2021, Brisa joins a diverse, global community of over 200 companies that have made a commitment to advancing water stewardship.
Based in Turkey, Brisa produces automotive tires primarily under the Bridgestone and Lassa brands. Brisa’s products are sold at over 1200 signboarded sales points domestically and internationally across 120 sales points in 60 countries. At endorsement, Brisa reported over $350 million in quarterly sales.
Brisa has several initiatives to improve water stewardship in its operations. At the Izmit factory, the company has a goal to reduce well water withdrawals by 68% by 2021 and 75% by 2023 compared to 2008 levels. At the Aksaray Factory, despite the 24% increase in production capacity, Brisa achieved a 1.81% reduction in main water usage.
